Kammeko is a playful and didactic reward system that helps you discover and adopt sustainable shopping behaviors, one action at a time, one challenge at a time.

Mission

For anyone looking to reduce the impact of their consumption on the environment, it can be hard to know where to start, what to do, and wonder if any of it even matters.

We know, we’ve been there! This is why we created kammeko. We want to take the doubt and discomfort out of sustainable living, and replace it with simplicity and excitement, allowing millions of people to enjoy a planet-friendly lifestyle.

Our mission is to make sustainable living mainstream. By doing so, we aim to actively contribute to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13, 14, and 15.

Key dates

  • September 2020: kammeko started as an idea

  • November 2020: kammeko is selected as a finalist in the UNDP Youth Co:Lab startup contest

  • August 25, 2021: incorporation of kammeko kk.

  • October 10, 2021: release of the beta version

  • May 20, 2022: kammeko becomes bi-lingual

  • Kammeko 2.0 release target date: October 15, 2022

Raphael Hodé, Co-Founder, CEO

Raphael is a designer and strategist passionate about sustainability and social innovation. He was previously a Lead Designer at Designit, a global innovation firm. He has 10 years of experience supporting both large corporations and early-stage startups in inventing, designing, and marketing new products and services. Originally from France, Raphael has been living and working in Japan for 7 years. In his spare time, he's usually surfing, rock climbing, or drinking good coffee.

Apolline Daimaru, Co-Founder, CMO

Apolline is a marketing strategist passionate about guiding brands on their quest for better. Previously worked at the branding studio RISKYBRAND in Tokyo. Having worked with starting and established businesses since 2014, she understands what iconic brands do well and how to apply these principles to make purpose-driven brands have a bigger impact. Born in France to a French-Japanese family, she has been working in Japan for 6 years. Apolline loves getting out into nature, swimming in cold water, and drinking homemade matcha.
